About Families of Inspiration

One Family, Inc.’s Families of Inspiration is a unique fundraising event that brings together hundreds of supporters who work together to end family homelessness in Massachusetts. Launched in 2012, this one-day annual celebration brings together the families and children we serve, families currently living in shelters, and our many supporters to highlight the needs of our most vulnerable community members. Each year we engage participants in activities that raise awareness about the issues of poverty and homelessness and how we can come together and work as “One Family” to help solve the crisis at hand.

Families of Inspiration will be held at beautiful Belkin Family Lookout Farm in South Natick, Massachusetts on Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 4 – 7 pm*. The event will be held in the children’s play area and will feature family-friendly games, arts and crafts, music and activities geared to children ages 2 through 12. Highlights include:

· Live Music Performances by Josh & the Jamtones
· Create a One Family Tree and One Family Album
· Train Rides, Face Painting, Magic Acts and Balloon Artists
· Cookie Decoration with Dancing Deer Baking Company
· Family-Style BBQ dinner

This year we will honor Simone Winston with One Family’s Community Leadership Award. This award honors those who are committed to improving the lives of homeless families throughout the Commonwealth. Simone Winston’s philanthropic efforts, in partnership with her husband Ted, have included support for many area charities and educational organizations helping both children and families. In addition, Winston Flowers sponsors Charities in Bloom, a program that supports many critical community agencies, including One Family

* Rain date: Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 4–7pm

About One Family, Inc.

Founded in 1999 by Paul and Phyllis Fireman and family, One Family, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending family homelessness in Massachusetts. This mission grows out of a core belief that no parent and child should be without a place to call home in such a richly resourced state. One Family works for change by collaborating with elected officials, faith and community leaders, businesses and foundations, and higher learning institutions to develop and implement innovative programs that reverse the widespread, chronic effects of poverty and strengthen lower-income and homeless families.
