Valerie Paric has over 15 years experience leading program development, training and human resources in the private and nonprofit sectors. Valerie joined One Family in 2006, transitioning from her prior positions as Director of Program Development and Director of the One Family Scholars Program to become the Executive Director in June 2012.
Valerie received a B.A. in Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington. She is also a graduate of the Institute for Nonprofit Management and Leadership at Boston University and LeadBoston (Class of 2010). For the past nine years, Valerie has volunteered as a City Links Mentor, a program of Cambridge Community Services that provides weekly mentoring to first generation college-bound students attending Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School.
Director of Development
Maura Smith joined One Family as Director of Development in 2013. She came to the organization after serving as the Director of Development and Community Relations for the Lowell Community Health Center. In that capacity, she directed a successful $5 million capital campaign to support the building of a new $42 million community medical facility in Lowell. Maura has also served in senior development positions with Tenacity, Buckingham, Browne and Nichols School, the Women’s Education and Industrial Union, and the Epiphany School, and in a number of government positions at both the local and federal level. Maura holds a B.A. from Wellesley College and a Master’s degree from the University of California – Berkeley.
Director of Policy and Advocacy
Kelley Gossett joined One Family in 2013 as its Director of Policy and Advocacy. Prior to joining One Family, Kelley was Director of Policy at Horizons for Homeless Children where she advocated for increased resources and policy reform on behalf of homeless families. Kelley earned her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk Law School and her Bachelor's of Arts from Boston College.
Matthew Miller has worked for over 10 years to ensure that Massachusetts children and families have the tools and resources they need to be successful in school and in life. In June 2012 he joined One Family as the Program Officer, where he is responsible for managing the One Family Scholars program and continuing its expansion across the Commonwealth. Prior to joining One Family, Matthew worked with parents through a variety of organizations including the Institute for Responsive Education, the Boston Parent Organizing Network, and as the coordinator of the Family Support Program at the Tobin K-8 School in Roxbury. Matthew has a B.A. in English and Education from Northeastern University and an Ed.M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Keyse Angelo joined One Family in 2013 as a Program
Associate. Keyse has ten years of experience providing academic and
workforce development support to youth and adults in the Boston area. Keyse graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies. She has directed her passion for social justice and helping others through working at nonprofits aimed at reducing violence and moving families towards economic
Abby Southwell joined the One Family team in January 2010 as an Intern. In July 2010, she became the Program Assistant, working as part of the One Family Scholars team, as well as focusing on data and financial management. Abby received her B.A. from Smith College in Mathematics and Italian Studies.
