We are seeking a paid research intern for the spring 2017 semester (February – April 2017) to conduct research on the following: demographics of homeless families in Massachusetts today (household status, age, number of children, education level, employment status, reason for homelessness); challenges homeless families face (employment, housing, healthcare, children’s education, etc.); workforce needs and opportunities in Massachusetts; and the outcomes achieved by current skill-building, vocational and credential programs.
The position will be responsible for data collection, conduct of interviews with appropriate parties, analysis and a final product summarizing both the data and the findings. The researcher may be asked to participate with One Family senior staff in developing a series of recommendations based upon the work.
This position requires 10-15 hours per week, a portion of which can be done remotely. One Family’s offices are located in Waltham, MA. One Family is happy, if appropriate, to work with the selected candidate to receive credit from his or her educational institution. The stipend for the research internship will be $2,500 through April 30th.
